April 13: OW Web Radio Outing

Our Project Stewardship participants will be visiting SUNY College at Old Westbury’s Web Radio Station (OWWR) this month. Justin Ellis, one of The Children’s Sangha’s interns is a student at SUNY Old Westbury and volunteers at OWWR. Therefore, he and his brother Brandon (who is a Media & Communications student) will provide us with a station tour! We will also participate in a project to create our own radio program about Project Stewardship which will include interviews with our participants! Through OWWR, our young people will gain hands-on exposure in radio/media and enjoy time working together.

OWWR provides students, faculty, alumni, and community volunteer programming that broadcasts online and on-campus through the closed circuit cable system, channel 3.1. OWWR is a variety station that features News, Sports, Talk, and offers a wide variety of music programming. OWWR acts in the interest, convenience and necessity of the public, entertaining both on and off campus communities. OWWR is the official radio station for coverage of the SUNY College at Old Westbury sports team, the Panthers.
