Participants in The Children’s Sangha’s Project Stewardship Program will be embarking on a group volunteer opportunity at The Garden at St. Francis on Wednesdays during the month of July. We welcome anyone interested in learning more about Project Stewardship (and) this group volunteer offering to attend our end-of-the-season meeting Finger Food Festival.
This volunteer opportunity will assist The Garden at St. Francis in “Growing to Give” fresh organic produce to those in need through the Long Island Council of Churches in Freeport and other community food pantries. There are many tasks to do at the garden including watering plants, weeding, painting, small construction projects, etc. Susan Salem, Farmer and Garden Co-Chair will direct us and Christine Keller will provide young adult planning and supervision in accord with our Project Stewardship program. All are welcome to join us!
The Children’s Sangha offers this opportunity to guide our young people, help them to build skills, make friends, and gain life-enhancing experiences in alignment with our Project Stewardship program!
