March 18: Whaling Museum Outing

This month’s Project Stewardship outing will be to the The Whaling Museum and Education Center for a special program: “On the Water – At Work & Play” featuring hands-on activities that reflect the Long Island boating and fishing traditions. We will meet local artists and fisherman in this family friendly Maritime Exploration. This program is offered in partnership with Long Island Traditions. Boat builders Ben Bentley and Emanual Roman, boat builder and model maker, Chris Hale, decoy carver, George Rigby, and maritime folk artist, Herb Jurist will be guiding this special program and its activities and able to answer questions posed. In addition, we will visit the main museum with historic exhibits and artifacts.
