We have been offering our Community Support Group based on the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) approach since 2008! For our 10 year anniversary, we are pleased to have parent presenters come in this month to share their “CPS Journeys” with others! Their stories will include the challenges they weathered and the successes they achieved through use of Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS). Heart-wrenching, humorous and inspiring, we can all learn from one another!
Dr. Monica DeSchryver has been utilizing CPS with our young people and their families for many years and working with us since the inception of the Community Support Group. We want to take this time to honor Dr. DeSchryver at this Open Forum where she continues her generous work in assisting Long Island families and addressing the specific questions and needs of participants. Please join us!
The Children’s Sangha works on behalf of children, young adults, families and schools. The foundation of our Community Support Group (established in 2008) is the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) approach developed by Dr. Ross W. Greene geared to assist adults in solving problem situations with children/young adults while building lagging skills on the process. View the Assessment of Lagging Skills and Unsolved Problems Sheet and bring to the meeting for guidance.
Christine Keller, who has received advanced training in the CPS approach, facilitates our group and is often joined by either Dr. Monica DeSchryver or Dr. Lisa LoPinto who are certified CPS providers. Questions about how to apply CPS in the home or school setting are are common topics. Learn how to view challenges through new lenses and navigate problem situations that are the cause of anxiety. Connect with one another through open discussion and obtain resource information and support. Young adults welcome to participate.
For more information about our Community Support Group, see our web site page. Please complete our Community Support Group membership application. An annual donation is requested for participating adults (membership includes CPS Training). No fee for students. CPS is an approach applicable to everyone! We all have different abilities and needs. We welcome you to be part of our collaborative community!
