September 9: Operation Splash Outing

Our Project Stewardship participants will embark on a boat outing to volunteer with Operation Splash in Freeport, NY. Operation SPLASH boats patrol our local Long Island waterways and pick up trash and debris. Over the past three decades, their volunteers have rescued more than 2,000,000 pounds of trash, marine debris and navigational hazards from our bays, beaches and waterways. We will join them and participate in their efforts while enjoying camaraderie and appreciation for our natural maritime environment here on the South Shore of Long Island.

We need to know the number of people participating in order to join a crew on this day/time (passenger numbers determine boat size and availability). So, please REGISTER ASAP to ensure that there is sufficient passenger space. Thank you! Those participating should wear long pants, short sleeve shirts, and sunscreen in addition to bringing water to drink. Can bring snack as well.

NOTE: RAINDATE = Saturday, September 16th (same time).
