April 3: Story Maps and History Minds [Zoom Meeting]

UPDATE: Due to COVID-19, we will be hosting our first ZOOM SESSION with our Project Stewardship young adult group. It will take place on the same date and time with the same agenda as planned! An e-mail invitation will be sent to current program participants and those who REGISTER for the session

PREVIOUS POST: Our Project Stewardship and Civic Mentoring participants are all interested in history! Some wonderful projects were completed last season! Today we will have Jackson demonstrate how to use Story Map which he used to document political propaganda cartoons that changed history.

We learned a bit about “The Brush”, former Quaker and African American community in Wantagh last Spring. Marko took the information we began to document and turned it into an amazing Google Slide Presentation which he will share with us as well!

Based on these slides, we will embark on a walking tour of “The Brush” end of April and spend some time at the historic Wantagh Railroad Museum which we visited two years ago and students loved!
