Participants in The Children’s Sangha’s Project Stewardship and Civic Mentoring programs have been involved with the L.I. Women’s Diversity Network in various capacities (i.e., volunteering for the annual Summit, creating content for new WDN Youth Council workshops, and participating in planning at Youth Council meetings).
We are now embarking on shared projects via our Student Leadership Partnership. This month, WDN Youth Council workshop leaders will offer a current workshop to our Project Stewardship group followed by one of our Project Stewardship youth, Matthew, demonstrating the new workshop he worked with his mentor to create. Comments and feedback will be provided by both WDN Youth Council leaders and our Project Stewardship youth before taking the workshop “on the road”.
There are a variety of ways that our Student Leadership Partnership will be organized to overlap with our current programs and those of our community partners. This results in more opportunities and skill building for our young people while they work to help people and planet through joint community projects.
