June 12: WDN Youth Council [via Zoom]

Sangha Education Center (SEC) has been involved with the Women’s Diversity Network (WDN) since its inception. We are proud to be working along side other women of different backgrounds striving to create positive change through collective work and a unified sisterhood. WDN is one of the amazing community partner organizations with whom we collaborate!

Much of our contribution revolves around the WDN Youth Council. Participants in our Project Stewardship program have volunteered at the Annual Summit. And, young adults in our Civic Mentoring program have been working on projects as part of the WDN Youth Council such as creating and teaching a workshop entitled Check Your Privilege. And a new one entitled A Look at Gender. And, we have hosted a film screening and workshops based on the film Black Panther. For this June session, we will introduce attendees to the WDN Youth Council structure and roles they may play in addition to finalizing some of our workshops via Zoom.

We invite ALL young people interested in embarking on civic engagement activities and initiatives with a diversity and social justice mission while developing leadership skills to join us. Be the change you wish to see in the world!
