May 12: Audubon Bird Nesting Workshop [via Zoom]

We have postponed this month’s Nature Walking Meditation outing due to COVID-19. Instead, our Project Stewardship young adult program participants will connect with the South Shore Audubon Society for a workshop on birds and nesting with Speaker Ken Elkins, Community Conservation Manager for Audubon in CT.

“We see birds as they’re feeding and hear them singing, but their lives in and around the nest are hidden high in the trees or dense in the brush. The feat of building a nest is impressive, and we’ll explore some of the most unique and creative nest builders. Then we’ll also get a glimpse into their secret lives of feeding and raising their young”.

Depending on the length of the workshop and Q&A, we may do a separate Zoom session following the first so that our young people can socialize and discuss what they have learned.
