Participants in The Children’s Sangha’s Project Stewardship and Civic Mentoring programs have been involved with the L.I. Women’s Diversity Network in various capacities (i.e., volunteering for the annual Summit, creating content for new WDN Youth Council workshops, and participating in planning at Youth Council meetings).
We are now embarking on shared projects via our Student Leadership Partnership. We will begin with a Student Leadership Forum where our young people can gather for a workshop, team-building activity, and discuss activism efforts for the coming year. Students will be trained to become trainers as curriculum development moves forward.
There are a variety of ways that Student Leadership will be organized to overlap with our current programs and those of our community partners. This results in more opportunities and skill building for our young people while they work to help people and planet through joint community projects.
