Reconnect Nature’s Child

The Children’s Sangha will be reintroducing our Reconnect Nature’s Child program which was established in 2003 as “Nature & The Environment” for children of all ages. Reconnect Nature’s Child is an interactive program offering multisensory, hands-on learning experiences with a nature-based curriculum connected to NYS education standards. We offer outdoor classroom activities on our premises or we can bring this workshop program to your school or community garden. Watch students build skills and character in the process!

Art/handy-crafts, music/movement and literature/role play are incorporated and adapted to different ages, learning styles and needs, enhancing academics and creativity. The program fosters the development of problem solving and coping skills while bolstering self-esteem and social awareness. Our Different Abilities Development Model was developed by way of this program between 2003 and 2008. We are honored to have worked with such amazing children over the years!

Additional components have been added since the program was first introduced. The curriculum is geared to teach important lessons about living and being in the world today, reconnecting children with nature and developing new stewards for Earth. Our outdoor classroom and play spaces use only natural substances to stimulate learning and the use of all five/six senses. Educators, Farmers and Project Assistants work together to teach and facilitate our program.

“If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in.” —Rachel Carson
